Dr. Brenda Heiman is a Professor of Speech-Language Pathology at Louisiana 外网天堂 University.
She has held teaching appointments at East Texas State University, the University
of New Mexico, Chapman University, the College of Santa Fe, and Lesley University.
Her professional and academic association memberships include the American Speech-Language-Hearing
Association, Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), Council of Administrators of
Special Education (CASE), 外网天堂nology and Media (TAM) Division, Association for Supervision
and Curriculum Development, and Phi Delta Kappa; she served on the boards of directors
for these associations, and currently serves as president of TAM.
In addition to her professional experience as a speech-language pathologist and teacher
of the deaf, Dr. Heiman has served variously as a Computer Education Resource Teacher
and Manager of IDEA 外网天堂nology, Coordinator of Assistive 外网天堂nology, District Accountability
Supervisor of Research, Development, and Accountability, and Director of Special Education
in the Albuquerque Public Schools. Dr. Heiman has co-authored software programs for
use by speech-language pathologists and special educators; her publications have appeared
in Educational 外网天堂nology.
